Why a ladies golf tour?
The ‘Swingers’ Ladies Golf Group had our inaugural tour this year at the start of Feb. Made up of a group of high school and university friends who all play golf, we decided that a tour was necessary. We had heard enough about the boy’s golf tours and there was nothing stopping us from making our own one happen. And it was a fantastic reason for a group of great friends to just catchup over some competition, out in the freshest air in nature doing one of the hobbies we love.
Planning for the weekend
We wanted this to be proper so the first thing we decided to do once the 8 of us had come together was to make some team kit. At Salty C we specialise in custom merchandise for events, teams, clubs, corporates, businesses and more so as I was part of the tour I took this upon Salty C. We got the ahead and we got designing.
Designing the kit
We came up with a logo, simple and classic and then moved to the print. Houndstooth was my go to idea as something classy, timeless and very classically "golf". The green in the mix of the logo and the print screamed lush long fairways and perfectly manicured greens. We pulled this through in the colour of the cap matching the pantone in the print and our Swingers tour kit came together like a dream. As this is the first of many annual tours to come, next up we're thinking dresses!
The weekend
We headed off to Notties, everyone coming from far and wide and had 2 great rounds over the weekend at Gowrie and Boschoek with some fierce and fun competition, so many laughs and literally the best memories made. The gees was out of this world and we were warmly welcomed at the clubs. As we wanted this to be legit, our captain and fines master organised various formats of play, a capping ceremony, fines and a blue blazer to chase as part of the individual comp! It was the best weekend we could have asked for.
